I found this at an estate sale auction house. I do not know much about old books. I am guessing that this is not the author’s signature. In fact, it looks kind of like a ballpoint pen to my untrained eye. Please make note of the crease in the book like somebody folded it in half and put it in a back pocket at one point. There were some re-prints that came out in later years. But they would have that publishing information opposite the title page. And you can see that my copy is blank there. So I am fairly confident that this is from 1909. When I found the book, it was in this protected plastic, with cardboard backing. So somebody took measures to take care of this.
